An Etsy dropshipping tool or app: what to check before you choose
We make Sereane, so take this list as a checklist, not a ranking. Many dropshipping tools were built for other store platforms. For Etsy, a few things deserve a check before you commit.
01First, Etsy’s rules
Etsy’s help center says drop shipping and reselling are not allowed, except for craft and party supplies, vintage items and some gift baskets, and that production partners are only for your own designs. A tool that promises to import any product and sell it on Etsy is promising something Etsy does not allow. Pick a tool that talks about orders, tracking and messages, not about what you can list.
02The checklist
- How does it get your Etsy sales? Ask, and ask what happens when Etsy changes something.
- Supplier orders. Does it prepare the order with the customer’s address, or do you copy everything?
- Tracking. Does the tracking number go back to Etsy by itself? What does it do with a carrier Etsy does not list?
- Payment. Who pays the supplier? A tool that pays for you needs a lot of trust. With Sereane, payment stays your action.
- Several shops. Is the number of shops limited, and does each extra shop cost more?
- Messages. Are customer messages in the tool, and can you answer in the customer’s language?
- The trial. Can you try it on real sales?
How Sereane answers
Sereane prepares supplier orders from Etsy sales, sends tracking back to Etsy, gathers the messages of all your shops with no limit on the number of shops, and leaves payment to you. The free trial is 14 days, so you can judge on your own sales.
Example: made-up figures and items.
